Just got my reamer from Brownells today. Have to round up some cutting oil and a drill chuck or T handle tomorow. since I got the BH convert and the two vaquero. . I decided to buy the reamer since my son has a couple of 45colts. Will I rent it out ? That is undecided as of now. On an other note. They charged me IN. sales tax.?? I think it might be due to them buying Sinclares in Ft. Wayne. |

Some states are making online companies collect sales taxes. ![]() I have a reamer also. I reamed my Vaquero and 45Colt Redhawk. I also cut the forcing cone to 11* on the Redhawk. |

I’m not BH but I did get the bushing kit with mine many years ago. You use the best fitting bushing and brass case with the bottom cut off to help keep everything in line. Works great.

Now Now boys , lets play nice. Iowegan mentioned the cut off case in his book. I assume that is to keep the back end of the reamer centered.

I noticed that a new case would also be reamed. And the new starlines fit fairly loose in two different cylinders that Iv'e checked so far. Also how long should I cut them ? 1/2" 3/4" 7/8" ? My room in the garage is fairly cool this morning and I wanted to get started today. But would prefer to do it right the first time. Thin metal is hard to replace. |

I used a once fired case, measured the inside depth, put some bullets inside to keep the case round when I cut it, making it as long as I could and still get it over the reamer.
