Winchester model 94 jamming

Hello guys, i am new to the forum and have a question. I bought a .30-30 a little over a year ago with a jamming issue. This didn't bother me much at first, but now i think it needs to be fixed. The magazine will deliver the round, but the rifle jams trying to deliver the round into the barrel. To actually load a bullet, you have to play with the lever and rifle for it to function properly. The rifle was made in 1973. Any help is appreciated!

Welcome from the lower 48, I am not a lever gun expert. I do have a Henry 22 Mare's Leg. And have had no problems with it. We do have some great folks here with tons of knowledge. You will hear from them soon.

after looking at the jam some more, it looks like the carrier is not bringing the bullet high enough to slide into the chamber. What could cause this?

On a Winchester, you absolutely must hit that lever hard on the end of the downstroke till it won't go, no more. That last little bit of lever travel will make the difference between getting a round in the chamber or not. Marlins are a lot less fussy in this regard. With a 94, ya gotta work that lever like ya mean it. No limpy lever lollygagging with a 94

That is good to know. I haven't had any problems with mine but I'll keep it in mind.
