G10 grips?

This is a discussion on G10 grips? within the Gun Gear forums, part of the Gunner Forum category; Pachmayr now has G10 grips for the SP101 (and LCRs). I'm tempted. MSRP is $ 69, too high, but I've found some for $ 30. ...

G10 grips?

Pachmayr now has G10 grips for the SP101 (and LCRs). I'm tempted. MSRP is $ 69, too high, but I've found some for $ 30.

I like the factory grip okay, but it can bash a knuckle. I love the Hogues in both hard nylon and overmold rubber, but too long for good CC.

From what I read, G10 is about indestructible, and very hard. These are checkered, too, which seems likely to be rough on hands and holsters. Anybody have other G10 grips? Like or dislike?

I can't find a photo of them on the gun, and they're too new to find online reviews. The LCR model is the same shape.

Have used G10s on 1911s and they're great on that gun. Very grippy, but not at all rough on the hands. Have no idea how they'd be on a revolver, though. Could be quite different.

I have G10's on my Ruger 1911 and they're great. Mine are from VZ grips and if I recall they cost more than what you want to pay. At any rate I don't know what they would be like on a heavy caliber wheelgun.

I may still try them; at the worst I'd have to dull the checkering a bit. While I've been debating, the eBay source sold out. He sold out an earlier batch a week or so back, so maybe he'll list more. Less than half price works for me.

Get a pair of leather gloves at Lowes. That the plan with me for the Blackhawk 45 Colt/ACP with the black "original" grips. I'll take smooth wood any day. Not putting more money into it as not sure if it's a keeper.

As I recall, there are different cuts on the G10's. Some are not so aggressive that they are uncomfortable.
I've seen checkering on a 1911 more aggressive than a G10.
