Anybody have one? Or any other UpLULA? Good? I've found that a couple of local places have them at the same prices I've found online, so I'm considering one for my Guardians. The Baby is made for single stack .22 to .380 mags no more than a half inch thick (they have a different loader for side button mags). I think $ 30 is a little steep, but some online places want closer to $ 40. I've already got the MakerShot loader, which was $ 10 on eBay. It takes one extra step, pushing the round back after it's half under the mag lips, but it's smaller and all one piece ABS plastic. The LULAs do have a loading beak (what they call the post that pushes the follower) of hardened steel. The MakerShot's is ABS, but seems plenty strong enough. I wonder about the names for these things. I did notice they are made in Israel, maybe it translates better for them. Last edited by bearcatter; 02-19-2020 at 09:24 AM. |

Both? UpLULA and MakerShot, or two different UpLULAs?

I have the larger uplula. It works great for .45 acp, 9mm, and 380. Well made and worth the money.

My UpLULA works very well on my 17 round S&W 9mm mags.

I'm still debating; I may give the Lula a better look over the weekend. My particular model Makershot works fine with my Guardians. From reviews I've read, some other models don't do as well, particularly with M&P Shield and some SIGs. Their ads imply that they are made for specific guns, but there are actually only about a dozen models. It's a little slower than the Lulas, but i'm looking for easier more than fast. By time I'd load eight mags, my thumbs would pay for it. Makershot has short videos showing how they work, this one with a LCP. This is the same model used with Guardians: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZtCHfrLRrQ |

I've been meanin to get one of those regular UpLulas. Always loaded by hand, but those stainless Springfield mags are kind'a scary. They're not hard to load, but one slip would be like rakin your thumb across a tater peeler.

I honestly posted this just to have a new thread, things were kind of slow? Anyway, I gave up and bought one last night. I'm not real impressed comparing it to the Makershot. You have to have a table or at least a knee cap to use it, won't work in mid-air. Seems to take as much or more effort to operate. And after about 10 practice loadings, I don't think it's any faster. It has five steel parts, which could rust. Only plus is that it would probably last longer than one Makershot, having the steel beak, but for $30, it should. Definitely not worth the $45 list. I'm just lucky that my Makershot and gun combination is one that works well, others don't. I'll probably return the Lula. |

I couldn't survive without the uplula and have a few in different colors( its a gal thing ) ![]() I also have the strip uplula for AR rounds. We've used them for years & haven't had any issues with durability, they're built like a tank. |

Quote: RAE has a rough texture like it's 3D printed (?). Works the same but it doesn't have the raised rim around the bottom, so would be harder to handle, I think. Other similar loaders online, not very good. The Baby Lula was good, but for me it was just second place. | ||
