furniture on Rossi Mare's Letg

The furniture on the Rossi is Walnut but it was a light walnut and didn't look right so I stained it darker. It still a little lighter than the stock on the Henry but its close. The Brazilian walnut is very light and the open grain seems more pronounced than American walnut. It actually looks more like oak.

I normally don't like tacks on a gun , but I think on your mares leg it would look cool with them on it . I don't like the way they did this gun .

I ordered some leather holsters and bandoleros. It will take a couple weeks to get them and when I do I'll look into trying to see if any tacks might match the M'sL and the leather.

Do you know of any way of stripping the black (paint?) off the receiver and refinishing to look like the old metal?

That not black paint I don't think..... scotchbrite works good to remove finish , but remember if that receiver has nickel in it won't blue or brown . Winchester had nickel type alloy in there guns a long time ago and you had to send back to factory for rebluing or you could polish it to look like chrome . This is a polished receiver .
