Ruger SR22

I haven't bought too many firearms this past year, I didn't have this caliber, so I just walked into the LGS the weekend before Christmas, pulled the 4473 form and started filling it out.

One of my friends asked me what I was doing…I said "buying the two-tone Ruger SR22".

So, I bought the SR22 on 12/20 along with 500rd of .22lr ammo.

Birthday is next on the list and I'd like to get a Geezer Long Gun…

A few pictures…

A better picture…

Very fun to shoot and it shoots pretty darn good too.
I went down to ENC the day after I bought it after a friend bailed on shooting at her place…said it was too cold.

Put about 20-30rounds in the first target center, then shot some SD rounds from the XDS, P226, and the HK, which are the top shots, right to left.
Pulled one on the head shot and one on the HK.
Otherwise, I suppose I did OK.
Target set at around 12-13yd.

That little SR22 is really fun to shoot!!
I would have shot more, but my fingers were frozen!

It is a fun little plinker I have had one for about three years now. I don't shoot it as often as I used to. Maybe I need to break it out for the next range trip. But then I have said that about all of my guns decisions decisions..
I like the two tone on yours.

They are a great pistol. I have an SR22 and a Walther P22 and they are both very similar.

I like the two tone color scheme. Kind of classy in its own way.

Glad you had a chance to shoot, too, cold and all. Any of those targets would translate into a bad guy, down. Good work.

I really like mine. We most often use it to "warm up" on our pistol range trips.

It is very reliable with all .22lr ammo I use. A couple opservations for new owners.

1. If you get a week round, it will fire & eject the spent case, but there is not quite enough power to bring the slide all the way back to pick up the next round. So, if you click & no bang, make sure there is a round chambered. It nice that this little gem has re-strike capabilities.

2. some times the magazines can be a little finicky. I never pull the follower down to far, just enough to get the next round in. Also, when full, tap the mags in your palm or on the bench, on the rim-side, to fully seat everything.
This really helps with the feeding.

3. I have never had issues with mine( recoil rod & spring), but ensure that the spring is attached to the rod. Mine has never came off & I have an early model with "Pistol" on the slide.

Enjoy the new plinker. I have never used the word "FUN" so much when describing a pistol, but it just fits the SR22p nicely.
It is also fun to see how accurate you can be with a 3.5" barrel.

I have an SR22 that I've had for a couple of years. Guess I didn't know they made one in 2 tone. Sharp looking little gun.

USMC6094!
Good to see you here!

Hey Hornet - I had a choice of all black, but it was threaded barrel and I really didn't want that. Plus, I like the two-tones.

It is a fun shooter.
Maybe I'll just go off the deck this weekend with it and the 10/22. /shrug/
