I thinking about putting a Daisy Avanti 747 Triumph Match in my check in luggage when my wife and I fly back and forth between Michigan and the Philippines. Do any of you have any thoughts on this. Thank you for your help.

Don't .......... air travel is not the place to test the laws . I mailed a air gun to NCG and it was a big deal at my UPS station so I went to mail shipping store and mail it . . Not everyone understands the law and since the Philippines is another country I wouldn't try it even if I was told it is ok . Buy one when you get there . Now I don't known if this law is still on the books but in Philly you can not own , buy or have a BB gun in the city limits .

I agree with TGR, even if you followed all the rules. Especially traveling international not all of the agents or law enforcement people will know what the rules are. Just too much to risk for a hobby gun. Buy something that you can use in the Philippines and have it stored there for you.

Thank all of you so much for your help. I was afraid that might be the answer. Finding a good quality air rifle in the Philippines may be a problem. I'll check it out as well as I can. I decided to buy a Daisy model 853C in Michigan. Thank you again for your help. Shoot well my friends.

Hi Bounty

Have to agree with the others. All it would take to really screw up your travel plans and get you in hot water is one customs/security person who notices your pistol. These people are trained to react to anything that resembles a gun, first, and worry about the details, later. They have to. It's their job and my guess is that there are more than a few who wouldn't recognize an air pistol on sight for what it is.

The good news is that air gun shooting really is an international sport. I suspect you'll be able to find decent air guns, over there.
