First range trip?

How do you guys decide to go? It's supposed to be mostly sunny and 75 here Saturday, and I'm on the fence. Can't do Sunday, rain, and wife is off anyway........

This time of year, the high temp is around 4:30-5:00, and doesn't last long. I like to get to the range about eleven and leave by two, because it doesn't usually get the least busy until then. At eleven, it could still be fifties. Plus, I've learned to really appreciate sleep when I can get it. Most Saturdays I don't let go of the pillow until 10 or so.....

Decisions, decisions. Shoot or sleep?....zzzzzzzz.......

I backed out today. Right now it's only 58, and my range is up a small mountain, tends to be ten degrees cooler. Windy too, 10-20 mph today. I'll get a better day soon.

Fortunately, I have a couple of indoor ranges very close to me. During to cold weather months, I usually visit one of them at least every other week.

When I'm at my lake home up north (when it warms up), I have a couple of public outdoor places to shoot and I'm usually the only person there. Also, have a friend about five miles from me up there, who has a nice range on his own property. He's always saying, "feel free to come/shoot anytime you're around."

We generally go about 3 miles down the road to some private timber property but our weather has been so crappy it's been a while.
