Marlin 1895G

Well, as I said the other day, I spotted a lonely 1895G at my LGS when I went to sign the petition for the repeal of the latest gun laws. I stopped by yesterday and id was still there, although it had been joined by an 1895, so I decided it was meant to be.

Now, this is my first purchase since the latest gun law passage, well, since it went into effect, and had made all semi-auto rifles assault rifles and changed the instant check system. It is now the first time in my 50+ years of purchasing firearms that I have been put on a wait status. We no longer use NICS, the State has their own clearing house and forwards requests the the appropriate County or the FBI office as deemed necessary. I sure hope this Repeal goes through! Looks like Seattle and King County are going to help now that they are suing voters on this car tab issue, seams they feel they should be independent of the State vote, so gun owners should have the same option. I think the moral might be, beware of what you wish for but then, our State does have a preemptive rule.Time will tell! Who knows when I will get my gun, the guy said he will call. GRRR!

Well, as it turns out, my particular hangup was due to volume backlog and our State's new method of handling (Or Not) background checks. I was cleared Monday but my LGS was closed until Tuesday, got the pickup cal 8am Tuesday morning.

All worked out though, one of the guys bought all o my old 45LC ammo and my neighbor bought my .223/556 ammo and giving my son all of my 38/357 ammo so I have lots of room for 9mm! I'm thinking, now I need to come up with some home defense rounds for my Ruger GSR and the 45/70 since all I have now is for hunting. I think my Garrett 420gr Hammer heads might be over kill unless I'm trying to stop a truck.
