28 gauge would not be a normal choice for turkey. Couldn't even find #4 so I used #5 shot. My problem is that I have a lot of parts and pieces in my neck compliments of a head on with a drunk driver 11 years ago and that is the most recoil I can stand. Turkey was moving fairly fast across my shooting lane towards the decoy. Just swung on him like he was a great big grouse and touched it off as I passed his bill. Biggest grouse I have ever seen!

Its just a joy to be out there amongst em. If I had to, I'd shoot em with a camera, but they wouldn't taste nearly as good! Glad you found a way to improvise adapt and overcome. Congrats again
