I recently got a Rossi lever action 44 mag. When I shoot 44 mag loads, the first few shots are right on or close enough to correct, but after a few shots, they start going very wild - off the 18" paper, while the first few were grouped within inches at 50 yds. I have shot 15 rounds of 44 special & they were all grouped together. The mag ammo I used was either Federal 240 grain JSP (says 1250 f/s on the box), or hand loads with Nosler 240 gr JHP & JSP which shoot fine at out of a 7.5" Blackhawk. Some are loaded with 16.5g of AA#7 & some with 23g of H110. Both have a pretty tight crimp. Any ideas of what could cause this? |
