Ruger 22 Magnum

This old Ruger 3 screw 22 Mag is one of my grand daughter's favorite shooters. It'll be hers in a couple of years. This is at 25 yards Weaver stance. I wish 22 Mag ammo wasn't so expensive and her favorite plinker was one of my old single six's in .22 caliber. She's already talked me out of an old Remington Score Master clip fed 22 Rifle. She loves to shoot. Here's her target..not bad.

Rich, Ruger did sell some of those Old Models as 22 mag, only, but I do know folks who have bought used 22 LR cylinders and added them to those. Might be worth investigating.

You can add a mag cylinder if your Single Six has the .224 mag bore size, but not the .222 LR, only bore size. All Single Sixes from the early 60s on had the mag bore size, regardless of whether the gun was sold with the extra 22 mag cylinder or not.

What surprises me on my Single Six convertible is how accurate it is with old Winchester yellow box 22 LR's.

I sent mine to Ruger and they fitted a standard cylinder bot also added all the "safe" changes. They did return all of the parts so it could be restored to original.
