Good shooting day at last

Just got back a half hour ago. 525 rounds through my .22 SP101, in 3 1/2 hours. I took a Bearcat as back-up, but didn't shoot it.

I was shooting Federal Auto Match, and only had two issues. One round that needed a second hit, and one that must have not had any primer (?). I hit it in five different places, but no bang. That's less than half a percent, not bad.

Most of the targets were golf balls at 20 yards. Someone had left a dozen or so scattered around, that were still shootable. I had taken my spinning rubber prairie dog, but the balls are more of a challenge.

Perfect weather, and never more than three tables busy. I was expecting it to be busy, so I had a really good day.

I have one filthy gun, but at least only one. I usually shoot two. More gray than silver. I'm waiting for self-cleaning guns...

It took five quick dry brushings to get through that many rounds. Bore, chambers, cylinder face, and cone. It's got a .004 gap.

After a day at the range, cleaning a gun is part of the joy of shooting.
Foreplay, heat it up, and strip it down.

Good on you Bcatter for getting to it!

Don't wait so long before shooting again, life it just to short to spend time waiting for fun.
