Not really sure how well I shot, since they put so many holes in my targets. I was shooting 10 shot strings, and I don't think I had a target all day that only had 10 holes. One had 15. Plus they insisted on sweeping up all the brass in my lane and theirs. They were literally moving my stuff to sweep brass. They never asked me if I wanted my brass. I'm not saving brass right now except 44 mag. The hot range periods were a lot longer this this time too, so I did a lot of waiting around. Didn't shoot quite everything I planned on. I shot 100 rd of .22, 40 rd of .223, and 60 rd of .45 with the Range Officer. I had intended to shoot the 45 Shield a bit, but didn't want to wait around any more. I was there for close to 2 hours, and it is 100 degrees. But it's a dry heat. Got my rail for the 44 mag in the mail, so I plan to swap around red dots and shoot the 44 mag on the net trip. Payed my $ 45 membership, so I'm good for a year.
Don't think I could have handled all of the kids!

Well, they were kind of a pain, but on the other hand it's good to see them out shooting. I'd say they were anywhere from 10 to 18. The one high-schooler obviously thought he was a real pro, but had to be told 3 times to open the action on his AR for the cold range. The 3rd time a round popped out. That was because after they called 1 minute til cold range he took 3 or 4 shots, then LOADED ANOTHER 30 rd mag. So then about 10 seconds later, when they called cease fire, he popped the mag out, then laid the rifle down, ready to fire.

Got the Matchdot 2 mounted on my 629 and took it to the range today. Shot 85 rd with it, but it didn't help the fine sighting-in that I had 3 different kinds of ammo all the way from 850 FPS 44 Spls to 1200 FPS 44 Mags. Didn't do anything great at shooting. The last target with the big boy ammo I put the first 3 in the X ring at 25 yd in a 7/8" group, then I choked. The 4th went high in the 8 ring then I jerked the last one in the white for a 6. Should have quit after 3 shots. Also shot 40 rds with my PPQ-45 and 30 rds with my Shield 45. Nothing great for shooting, but a pretty good day at the range overall. I'm finding that outdoor is harder. It was quite windy today, and it's also harder to see in the bright sunlight. Most red dots indoors, I wish I had a brightness lower than 1. With the Matchdot indoors, I usually use 4 or 5, but today I needed to jack it all the way up to 11. (Thanks Spinal Tap)
