Guardian at the range

Took my replacement Guardian to the range yesterday for the first time. I got it back in November, so it was overdue! We hit a record 86* yesterday with partly cloudy and light breeze. My range time was early, in seventies.

Anyhow, it fired a full box of Aguila with no issues at all. I figured since they had such a hard time getting it out to me, it was well tested by them, but now I can make it official. It shoots exactly like my other one. Including flinging the empties over my left shoulder or into my forehead. Oh well.

Took a Bearcat and shot a half box of Auto Match through it, no hiccups. Now I only have a box and a half to get rid of. The least favorite of my .22 stash. Shoots well enough, but dirty.

Glad you got to get some gunpowder aroma therapy in. Can’t think of any better way to combat the corona mania.

You know, I had good weather, traffic wasn't bad, and the range wasn't too busy.

I still can't say I had "fun". I was glad the Guardian didn't have issues, simply because of the hassle if it did. I was loading and firing the Bearcat somewhat mechanically, just to get it over with. I only brought it to make the trip "worth it", driving 40 minutes each way.

The last few range trips were about the same. I just can't seem to enjoy it anymore.

I don't know what your range allows when shooting. If I couldn't practice moving while shooting, using various size/types of targets, and shooting with flashlights, I'd get bored as hell just shooting at a circular target. Try to change it up if possible or find another place to shoot.

BC, it's time to break out the mirrors and start shooting over your shoulder.

It's a Forest Service range, unsupervised. You can shoot at most anything except the exploding stuff. I like the spinning rubber Prairie Dog most times. I have a rocking armor plate Prairie Dog for larger calibers. Shooting just doesn't turn me on like it used to. Maybe when ( if ? ) the world gets back to normal.
