Back when powder was hard to find , I was given about 1/2 pound of it . It seemed to be O K for 9 mm and 45 ACP . Did not do well in 38 special or 380 ACP . I prefer to stick with 2 powders - H110 [ there are a few cross overs but while the book says they are same - they were not for me ] I went from H 38 to HS6 to CFE pistol [ current pistol powder . Unique seems to be a " dirty powder " . I run my dies thru the sonic cleaner after each use [ I use rubbing alcohol , then CR332 for rust protection ] and had to clean sonic cleaner after each use [ I have 2 sonic cleaners 1 for alcohol other for CR332 ] Anyway , Unique is like a crescent wrench good for a lot of things , but not the best for any . I did find a few listings for Unique for my 357 and 44 mags [ mostly cast that you should not use in the Desert Eagles ] but none for the 50 A E . I would buy HS6 or H38 as an all around powder before Unique . With the elections coming up there might be a big tax added to gun stuff , Or they might just have to have a permit to buy , I reload for now 6 nephews and 2 nieces and told them we need CFE pistol , HS6 or H38 and primers . Only 3 of us shoot / own 357 , 44 mag and 50A E so we buy the H 110 and CCI mag primers . With the elections coming up there might be a big tax added to gun stuff , Or they might just have to have a permit to buy |

I understand what you mean. I have a pound of Unique & Universal for "emergencies"! It's in a glass case mounted on the wall by my reloading bench. ![]() Currently my hands down favorite powder is CFE Pistol It's a good thing I like it, because I have a 5 year supply & it and TiteGroup ![]() Last edited by moakes58; 05-22-2016 at 07:36 AM. |

I have a 8 lbs can of Unique sealed for Emergencies .... I also have more Unique , IMR 4227 and IMR 3031 that I use for my everyday loading and making custom ammo . I also have over 20,000 primers in sealed ammo box for Emergencies too . I have ton of cast bullets I made and a ton of lead to make new ones if needed . Now that I'm 73 It will be impossible for me to shoot it up before I die . ![]() ![]() ![]() |
