58 cal Remington Zouave

I've had this gun for over 4 yrs and never shot it yet . I have 300 minnie balls for it and need to shoot it before I sell it . They were the magnum in there day . They loaded them up to 190 grs of 2F which was 2200 fps with 500 gr minnie ball which put it up the with a 458 Winchester magnum class . 80 gr of 3F is a good target load and super more pleasure too shoot and easier on the shoulder too . It will shoot a patched round ball also because it has a 1 in 72 twist

500 grains at 2200fps.....thats a helluva lot of energy..gotta b over 2ton. Musta been a mean buffalo thumper back in the day. I was shootin buffalo bores 40 grain rounds for a bit and killed a few with em but they're pretty spendy. And when hornaday developed the leverevolution I made the switch 320 grains. Didn't have an issue till last fall but it was my fault. I didn't put it in the boiler room where they belong. I did finally get him with much effort and some stress on his part which I and most strive to avoid. Max me giggle a bit callin any 500 grain round minnie. U must have one heckuva collection tgr. You've posted some pics of some interesting firearms

Well, if we are ever under attack by wooly mammoths up here, I know what to get for a gun. Good grief! Still, like you said, TX, you can still load light. Very interesting. If I see one, I may just take it home.
