That has me beat with any 22 LR I've ever used. In fact, can't even remember the last time I shot a 22 LR gun at that distance.

Remember those .22 J.C. Higgins guns? I think they were made by Marlin but I'm not sure about that. It was the first gun I ever owned. My mom bought me one and also bought one for my brother. She was a single mother at that time and didn't have much money. If I remember correctly they only cost around $12 or so. It wasn't worth much to anybody except myself. Like an idiot I sold it when I was a teenager but I would give anything to have that gun back now for nostalgic reasons. My brother was smart enough to keep his and he still has it. It occupies a proud place in his home among his many other very expensive guns.

This one cost $5 in 1861 . I almost never shot this gun under 100 yds .

Onetime I shot my Henry at 100 yards prone and did quite well. But I could never reproduce the tight group.

Hornet, most of those JC Higgins 22s were indeed made by Marlin, though I think some were made by Savage, too. (The Higgins 101.3 was a Marlin 100.) There are some Marlin folks who collect those store brand made Marlins, by the way.

The best squirrel hunter I ever knew bought a single shot Marlin 22 after he got home from WWII and only ever used it with factory sights. He was a hunter more than a shooter, one of those guys who just became invisible the minute he stepped into the woods. He thought it was ridiculous to put a scope on a 22 for squirrel hunting. He did approve of me using a 22 pistol for squirrel hunting, though.

This is the 100 yds target ASSRA use and 25 ring is the size of a dime . The 25 ring on the 200 yd target is the size of a quarter . Now you know why I refer to dimes and quarters in my posts .
