My person choice are Uberti / Cimarron they made the parts for Colt for years . The 66 and 73 are the best guns for straight wall gun because they use a lift gate and not a ramp and these gun are the best in the business and are great right out of the box .

I shot this Rossi and 2 Vaquero 16 yr in SASS/CAS matches without 1 failure . The Rossi rifles will need to be smooth up .

Another nice looking collection.

Interesting that you have posted some 44-40's.

My LGS just last Saturday told me that he has a Vaquero available in 44-40. For a short while, I considered switching from going with 45LC to 44-40 in both the Revolver and Rifle.

What is your opinion on both Calibers, considering all. Cost, Availability, Performance, Availability and Cost of Ammo, etc.

The Vaquero in 44-40 if it has a prefix 55-xxxxx or 56-xxxxx pass on them . The barrels and cylinders are wrong . Most of the 57-xxxxx are OK . 58-XXXX are perfect and buy everyone you see ,

The Ruger SA in 45LC has problems also the chamber are 3 difference sizes in one cylinders , I understand the newest models are OK . I would check them before you buy one or buy a Uberti / Cimarrom they are perfect out of the box .
