Combo gun

This is one of the most fun guns that I own. Yep another C&R oldie. It's a Stevens 22-410 combination over/under from the late 30's, mirror bores and the case color on the receiver still maintains it nice finish. I really lucked into this several years ago. The grand kids love to shoot it and so do I. I believe the Air Force had a contract for a small amount of these as a survival weapon. Here's a couple of pics.

Very familiar gun to me. A friend of my brother had one and as youngsters out of the farm, we used to hunt rats with it down by the corn silos at night. Pretty spooky stuff for us kids, but we loved the adventure of it all. Shot a lot of tin cans with it using the 22 barrel and, now and then, just for kicks, would blast them with 410.

I still see these, now and then, at local auctions, but they always go high. Still a favorite around the house or cabin, up here.

I had a .22LR/.410 when I was a teenager. Wish I still had it. Can't remember the brand but it was fairly cheaply made. I am now looking for a .22WMR/.410 over and under.

I'm familiar with it too, but yours is in very good condition compared to the one I shot.

I had 1 also that was stolen while I was in boot camp. The .410 was only fired a box or 2 for fun, but that .22 was well used & was very accurate at 50 yards with the factory sights.

I truly loved that rifle & it provided many a good times, similar to NCG's experience.

Those older Model 24s were well made guns, but the later ones were up and down in quality.

That's a really nice one. I like the case hardening quite a bit.

I have the Savage current model. It is a lot of fun, .22 over .410. Can't beat it. I'd love to find one like yours.

There was one in a gun shops several years ago 22/20 ga and I checked it out and passed. The only thing I recall was thinking it was heavy for such a small gun. It's a great concept.
