Marlin model39a

One of my favorite lever guns. Marlin model 39A from 1956. An older gent was selling off some of his guns and I was fortune enough to get this one. He had some very nice guns but my funds were limited at the time and I feel I was lucky to have gotten this one. Not bad for a 60 year old gun. I don't know what draws me to the older stuff, maybe just too old school. Here's the model 39A.

You will find many fans of that rifle here. I got mine from Texas Gun Runner here, a few years ago. He bought it new in 69. I love the feel of the rifle. I love the old one. You have some real treasures.

That's a good picture.

You can see why I use Gun Runner's pictures, he's a much better photographer than I am. Most of the members here are.

'46 was a very good year for the 39A. Here's ours.

1981 wasn't a bad year, either.

Man-O-Man........that's a beauty!!!!!!!!!!

Mine doesn't look anywhere near that good but I bet it's as accurate.

Has you're stock been refinished?

No, can see no evidence of having been redone. Just an old 39A in great shape. Oh, yeah, very accurate. Has one of the nicest triggers I've ever had on a 39. Very easy to shoot gun. Will be adding a Marble's tang peep at some point. Those old ones like ours were drilled and tapped for a tang peep.
