Well I took it out and put 15 rounds thru it. It fired perfect. Pretty accurate for the quick shooting I was doing. Slide locked back on the empty mag. Recoil was slight and the gun stayed on target pretty good. I brought it home to clean it and reload it, and the damn guide rod was snapped in 2. It's plastic and Sig doesn't make a metal one for this gun. I called and they will have a new one in the mail ASAP. I was told that this isn't a problem with the plastic guid rods and is an exception to the rule. We'll see. If a second one breaks, they'll get it back in a hurry. I guess with Sig, you need to spend $600 or more to get quality. ![]() |

Well after talking to CS at Sig and inspecting the rod, it might be that it was faulty to start with. Where it broke looks like it was a problem with the molding process. I think QC may have been asleep at the wheel. He seemed pretty confident that it wouldn't happen again. They've been using the guide rods for a while, and I'm thinking if it was a problem, they'd go with metal ones for the P250's also. You know how it is, you buy a Ruger and it's the best gun you've ever owned. Your buddy buys the same one, because you love yours so much, and he has nothing but problems with it. It happens. If the new rod breaks, I'll run out to Exeter and return it. ![]() |

Hate to hear that BH, but, that is why I don't have a P250. Sig guide rods have been made of hollow metal, solid metal, or plastic. I, pesonally don't like the idea of a plactic guide rod. I don't know if anyone makes a metal one, but you might try Top Gun Supply.....Hope the replacement works..... BTW, if you do return it...get a P226 or P229, or P220....more $$$$, but much better guns..... |

You might also consider a CPO....it is a factory refurbished Sig, and they seem to be pretty well done....probably a couple hundred less than new.....they come with a red grip wrapper, instead of blue.....

The main reason we got the gun is because it fit Jen so well. She also really liked the trigger pull. If I have to spend more I will, but I don't hink we'll have to. I will look into a metal rod though. I'll feel better. |

Just got a metal guide rod thru these guys. It'll be here next week. Should solve the problem 100%. ![]() https://shop.grayguns.com/ |

did sig want the broken part back for inspection? if this is unusual and a cast mold problem, i figured they would want to look at it............for either in-house purposes or to wave under the parts vendor nose.......... what do you thing of the "trigger return" on this sig...........not the trigger pull. is it a quick reset (do not care about distance) or is your finger faster than the spring in return? |

The reset is pretty good, Deputy, but I really need more time with it to know what it can and cannot do. They didn't ask for the broken part. Reading online, I find that it seems to be a pretty common problem. Other than the plastic rod, I didn't find anything negative about the gun. Some people don't like it, but so what? I don't like Glocks. Doesn't mean they're junk. |

Glock-the only gun that comes straight from the box with no pride of ownership. I am surprised about the Sig. Never heard any problems with a Sig, ever. I think Sigs are great guns. The only thing I never liked about em was where the de-cocker was on them. Of course, your 250 does not have one, so that is a moot point.

Other than the rod being just plain wrong, it's a pretty good gun. I think in the long run it'll be fine. |
