Just looking around today. Thought I would post a couple of pic's. I am lucky enough to own a number of 1911's. It is the only style pistol that I buy now. Here are a couple of pictures. The Colt is a 9mm. It can split playing cards at 20 ft. |

Thanks for posting, those are beautiful pistols. And, I have a set of those John Wayne coasters too! He had some great quotes.

Considering a 9 mm in 1911 frame - they are looking for one . I am in California and hard to find almost anything . Probably going to end up with the 44 desert eagle 44 . For me the 44 is easier to reload than the 9 mm - but the 9 mm bullets are easier to find . |

Cigar that Kimber is a beauty, and the Colt ain't nothing to sneeze at. I am interested in a 1911 in 9 as well. Just waiting for the wallet to catch up to my I want one guns list. |

Funny thing about the Colt 9mm. I wanted a older Colt only. Stopped in a GS and asked if they had one. They did but sold it just before I stopped in. I got on the computer that night and found mine on the Gander Mountain used gun site. Of all places. $725.00. Needless to say I bought it. I put in all new springs, polished the internals and changed the collect bushing to a solid one. It is one of my favorites. |

They are nice but I'll just shoot wolfie's once in a while and that way when they need maintenance, she can take care of it. ![]() Just teasing wolfie. Kimbers are nice. I don't have a pic with the new grips yet but here is one of my very favorites. For carry it's a commander size for me 4.25brl Colt Commander I decided I like the ambi safeties on it. ![]() Couple of full size Ruger 1991's too. ![]() ![]() Of course a Commander size Ruger too. ![]() Same pistol with the Gunny Grips my friend gave me. ![]() Another Colt Commander that my son latched onto some years ago. ![]() And this old thing too. It works! ![]() |

What gorgeous collections! Thanks for sharing, folks. At one time, we had a dozen 1911s and I still love them. Had to let them go, save one, since my old hands could no longer rack a 1911 slide, reliably. Old age does suck. I do NOT feel at all deprived or under-gunned, though, with our 7 and, especially 8 shot 357 Smith revolvers, shown, here. Nowhere near as purty as a 1911, but they can handle any problem I might encounter. Both are cut for moon clips, too, so fairly fast to reload. ![]() Last edited by north country gal; 03-26-2016 at 07:57 AM. |

Wolf - I love your collection. Yours is a very good mix of what is nice about 1911's. I like having a choice when deciding which gun to carry. I rotate through those that I have proven reliable and enjoy everything I own. |

Like O P , I like / prefer 1911's . I like the grips on your Randell , I prefer the pachmayr soft rubber wrap arounds and the Hogue - both with the finger slots . |
