Do any of you folks have one of these. It's a 22 cal on a 1911 platform. It's a German Sports Gun hence GSG from ATI out of Rochester Ny. I picked this up about 4 years ago at the LGS where I help out the owner now and then when any old surplus stuff comes in or he is giving a concealed carry class. Kinda neat as I'm retired and hang out there quite a bit. Anyhow I got one of these when a few came in. He sells me stuff at dealer's cost and we trade back and forth. I believe I gave around $ 280 Otd for this one. I must have a couple thousand rds. through it... the grand kids doing most of the shooting. ![]() Rich GSG .22cal 1911 |

Rich, one of our shooting buddies at our range has one and has put a lot of rounds though it. He likes the accuracy, though the build quality isn't the best. Tough to beat for the price, though, and the thing keeps shooting. That's what counts. For whatever reason, I've never really had an interest in pursuing a true blue 1911 in 22LR, despite the fact that I do shoot 1911s so much. Have always felt that a good semi-auto 22 LR like a High Standard, Ruger Mark and, now, the S&W Victory, was close enough. If you're looking for great accuracy, that darn Victory is a real bargain, by the way. |

I posted this report a while back. A Sig Sauer made by GSG. https://gunnerforum.com/range-reports...1911-22lr.html Last edited by moakes58; 01-13-2017 at 08:18 PM. |

Hey Moakes58. I didn't see your post as it was a little before my time on this site but I did read it...very good info on the GSG. NCG, your spot on citing the accuracy of the High Standard, Ruger MK series and the S&W Victory. We have a Colt Match Target Woodsman 4" barrel from 1972..actually it's my wife's but she lets me shoot it. ![]() COLT MATCH TARGET WOODSMAN 1972 |

Would love to have a 41, Rich, but they've gotten so crazy expensive, not to mention hard to get. Still some High Standard target versions around for a lot less money. As for the Victory, talked to two shooters, locally, that shoot 41s and a Victory and both claim the Victory is the equal in accuracy, though, of course, the trigger and construction quality is not in the same class. To be honest, shooting my Ruger Marks a lot less now that I have the Victory.

Hoosierman ... I purchased one of the early models back in July of 2010. Here is my detailed range report at 50,000 rounds. It is now nearing the 60,000 round mark and is still in pretty decent shape (just can't bring myself to retire it).

Hoosierman, Been away from the Forum for a while and just saw your post on the GSG. I have one and have quite a number of rounds through mine. It is a nice gun and all the feel of a 1911. It is cheaply made. The only dislike I have is after cleaning and reassembly the sights are off. This is due to the screw that helps hold the gun together. You can get a true barrel bushing and make this problem go away. There are a number of companies that make after market parts.(look on the web). All in all it is a fun gun to shoot. It is always the first gun I shoot at the range. |

I had a Colt Gold Cup 1911 Series 80 with a .22 conversion. I shot it a few times in .22, but lost interest soon. I sold the 1911 many years later, but still have the conversion if anyone is interested.
