Relics

Anyone remember when a lot of relic firearms were showing up in gun shops? Seems like it was around 2002. My local gun shop went wild with them. He had everything under the sun in his shop. It was awesome. And, the prices were very low.

I had the time of my life, buying all those "Relics". It was a fun time. Buying Mosins, Swiss rifles, and German pistols, Russian pistols etc. I had most of them. I wonder if that will ever happen again? I sure hope so.

How would you all like to see it happen again?

Sure would. I liked the time when all the police were changing to autos and everyone had cheap trade in revolvers. Would like to see more of those.

Two questions:

1. How do you classify something as a relic?

From Google:

Quote:
Relic
an object surviving from an earlier time, especially one of historical or sentimental interest.
synonyms: artifact, historical object, ancient object, antiquity, antique
"a Viking relic"

a part of a deceased holy person's body or belongings kept as an object of reverence.
synonyms: remains, corpse, bones; cadaver
"a saint's relics"

an object, custom, or belief that has survived from an earlier time but is now outmoded.
"individualized computer programming and time-sharing would become expensive relics"
2. Why isn't this term applied to Hillary Clinton?

BATF says a relic firearm was manufactured 50 or more years before the current date. So a gun made in 1968 could be a relic.

I was. Did you get my message about my dad being a machinist and running Brown and Sharp Screw Machines all his life? He died two years ago.
