well............here it is. after much serious thought, looking over all the latest and greatest entries, considering price, Wondering about the plastic and the new designs and technology, and just wondering if i should throw caution to the wind and dive on in........... Then, fortunately/unfortunately, logic came into play........... I'm issued a duty semi-handgun so i don't need one of those.......... I pack a revolver for off-duty/back-up so i don't need an auto for CCW........ I havn't owned a semi since daughter took over the last one so am i really missing something? I compete with the duty issue semi...........makes since for training so i don't need a competition semi This semi will get shot some but most likely be nothing more than a bug-out weapon. A weapon that has soft recoil for everyone in the family, high capacity for spray and pray moments for the wife since she can't hit the side of a barn is she should pick it up something ultra-reliable and bowling ball tough to take abuse Something with a heck of a good track record from a reputable company Did i mention Star Trek's Mr. Spock was a hero figure? Sort of makes decisions nothing but practical and takes the joy out of trying anything "new and improved"..... Dang near takes the thrill/excitment out of a new purchase as you know what you are getting into........... tried and proven, boreingly reliable and so strong and durable that most likely it will never wear out. A lifetime weapon that more or less stays under the radar and not appreciated so used prices are a steal not cutting edge technology but proven considered by most as ugly, but it is for an ugly job Ain't logic a b*t*h????? so, i present to you..............in basic Johnny Cash black . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ![]() |

Hard to go wrong with Ruger, IMHO. The P89 is not the prettiest gun out there, but is reliable and rugged as they come.
