Just thought I would start a 10/22 thread. I currently have six plus one Charger. Most are from the 60's and 70's but I do have one from about 2003. When I get home I'll put them all together and take a picture.

In my area, Wal-Mart sells the stainless/synthetic stock version for $247.00. At that price, I'd love to get one, but I honestly don't have a need [or even a real craving] for a .22 rifle. If I ever do need one, though, you can bet it'll be a 10/22.

I live in a small town and WM has ruin it with low wages and running small business out of business . If Chnia don't make it WM don't carry it . I bet if I gave you $100 for every USA made item they sell and you gave me $1 for every China made ones I would be the big winner . SORRY WM is a sore subject to me like obama .

Everything I buy I check where it is made and if its made in China I ask myself is it something I really need. I do this no matter where I buy something.

![]() Gunrunner speaks his mind and never has a problem with others doing the same. I have seen him take a lot of personal abuse and it seemed to PO me more than him. Relax and jump in, keep it lively! We shop at Walmart all the time. The groceries don't come from China and the name brand stuff like flashlights or electronics come from the same place whoever sells them. Actually, I think very little of what we buy there comes from China, and we go at least every week. | |

It's not just the China stuff . They don't pay there workers a fair wage and keep them under 36 hrs so not give them any benifits . If you do work 40 hr a week you can get medical insurance that is 1/3 of there paycheck . Only management makes a good wage . Walmart DON"T allow over time to be paid for any reason . I don't like WM and the game they play with peoples lives . I don't read this paste because I would really get pissed . http://i-hate-walmart.com/index.html |

I'm afraid I am less inclined to condemn them for that. Nobody has to work there and they do what they must to fit their business model. I worked in and managed fast food places for many years from the age of 15. We were a minimum wage business and the pressure on labor cost was still terrible. I lived on minimum wage for years, sometimes working two or even three jobs to get by. If I felt underpaid I quit. I have no problem as long as the employer pays the wages and benefits that are agreed on. I always preferred a minimum wage job to no job and I never took a dime of welfare or unemployment, even when I was entitled to it. I made more money by working harder, getting promotions, or teaching myself new skills like machining. I often worked as many as 120 or 140 hours a week to that end and I got by. When I was young and unmarried I sometimes did not eat for a day or two but that did not hurt me at all, you learn the difference between what you want and what you need, and you learn the difference between an unbearable job and an unpleasant one.

The unemployment rate for teenagers is 25% to 50%. Much better to have these young people employed at three or four dollars an hour and starting up the ladder than sitting at home without a $7.00 plus an hour job they didn't get. Every time they raised the wage I had to cut hours and everyone had to cover more work as a result. While I have lived on minimum wage I have seen very few who did, out of hundreds of employees I had. The job was for pocket money, extra income, or for experience to help start up the job latter. Raising the minimum wage is one of the crueler and more destructive things politicians have done.

Mac I agree with you , But they work there people 5 day week 6 hrs a day . They NEVER work them the same 5 days one week to the next or 5 days in a row so you can't get a 2nd job to work . You NEVER work the same hour so you can't get a day or night job . In that week you could start at 6am ,10am , noon , 4pm or 6pm . in the same week . WM has the system to where you must stay there and work only there job . Your right they could quit and get a better job but 70% don't have any skills . ![]() Out of the top 15 riches people in the USA 6 of them are the Walmart owners . I don't have problem with how much money they have , just how they made it . |

Walmart is a pain in the arse for me. We had a new one open and had deliver the beer and wine to it. The receiver refused to check it in because it was against her religion to drink. I understand that, but it's your job to RECEIVE product. the Manager let her get away with it, and checked it in. HOLY CRAP, she would have been on the street for non job performance. Oh, I have a couple of 10/22's myself.. Rant over....
