It has been a long day. I started installing a laminate wood floor in a friends yoga studio. The room is 18'3" by 21'6". I got the carpeting and padding out, put down the new underlayment and got about 1/4 of the flooring in today. I hope to finish it up tomorrow. I am tired and my knees are screaming at me.

I had some time on my hands today. It was too damn cold to go to the range, it is indoors but no heat. I have shot in there in this cold last year and the air circulation system turns it into a walk in freezer. Anyway I started on my reshaping project on the Carbine. The first thing that had to go was the barrel band recess. ![]() ![]() Next was a start of a groove for a pistol grip. ![]() ![]() After a lot of filing, smoothing, rounding off sharp edges, and sanding. ![]() This stock has some very nice grain. I may thin the grip down a little more in front of the palm swell. ![]() The fore end tapered back at 15 degrees. ![]() ![]() I like the contrast with the light wood and the black. I was thinking maybe a walnut stain but it looks good natural. ![]() On the left side I just rounded off sharp edges and lowered the area in front of the comb to give my thumb a groove to rest in. I may take that down a little bit more. It is a right handed rifle now. ![]() What do you think? Last edited by RetiredSeabee; 01-28-2014 at 06:11 PM. |

I think I am going to finish it natural. If I change my mind later I can always strip, sand, and stain it.

That's lookin a lot better. The way the front of the foregrip angles back reminds me of a Remington 597. The green fiber optics is what I see best too. |

I'm thinking I might part with my Charger. I'll post a picture with all of the acessories today. My battery is too low for the camera to work, so I'll have to charge it. I checked what accessories I have: 2-25 & 3-30 round bananna clips with easy loader, 6-10 round ruger mags, with Bipod. There is also a barrel nut and alum flash hider. That fast loader for the bananna clips works like a charm, just pour the 22's in and it aligns the bullets and feeds the injector knob. Last edited by KimberLover; 01-29-2014 at 09:05 AM. |

Thanks, I am leaning toward leaving it natural, and I have a little more thinning to do on the grip and fore end.

SeeBee, We can reach an agreement. I think it is considered a pistol, so all NC laws apply. Battery is charged and here is the picture. I'll send a contact pm to you. Not shown is the Weaver rail on the top. ![]() Last edited by KimberLover; 01-29-2014 at 09:06 AM. |

SeeBee, The Ruger is sold as of this morning. The guy picked it up and I am out of the Ruger business. Last edited by KimberLover; 01-30-2014 at 10:17 AM. |
