Help me out with 22 rifle

I'm looking for a semi auto 22 lr rifle not a AR like rifle. I have been looking at Ruger 10 22 and Mossburg 702 . I have read both gun have some problems is this true?
I would like to be able to shoot 25 before reloading with the ruger they have a BX25 mag for the 10 22. Mossburg not sure.
Anyone with any advice, I used the advice here on my last Henry. thank you

Ruger 10/22's are pretty bullet proof. The Marlin Model 60 makes a pretty nice plinking rifle also, but only holds, I think, 14 rounds. Had a Mossberg 702 and it was a jam-o-matic.

I'll second the 1022 and I'm sure 303 will be next to do so. The one great advantage of the 1022 is the virtual blizzard of aftermarket parts available so you can make a 1022 anything you want it to be. Any kind of problem with a 1022 is an easy fix. As for aftermarket parts, the Marlin 60 is a very distant second and forget about the Mossberg. With those, you're pretty much stuck with OEM replacement parts when something needs work.

Its hard to go wrong with the 10/22. You can make anyone of what seems like a million different way and has few problems.

I will toss in my recomendation for the Ruger. I recently bought my first and have had a great time with it. Easy to work on you can get parts easily and spend a few bucks or big buks. Depending on what you want to do with it. And it doesn't take a lot of cash to improve on the basic gun. Mine shot great out of the box and I put a little time into it and made it better. https://gunnerforum.com/semi-auto-rif...r-10-22-a.html

I like 10/22s, but I also like the Remington 597. They just feel more like a full size rifle to me. I don't know about quality of the new ones though.

Hey! If you can work the lever fast enough a Henry could be considered a semi!

Hey, wish you guys would stop tempting me with these glamour shots of cowboys. I'm a sucker for a hunk with a hat and rifle.

ME TV has reruns of The Rifleman and Wanted: Dead or Alive on all the time. You can't beat these old westerns but I've seen every episode a dozen times.

Hey didn't you notice the wedding band?

Thanks everyone, Looks like it's the Ruger 1022. What aftermarket parts is that what I search for is aftermarket parts for the Ruger 1022 rifle.
Last year thinking was there was never going to be many 22 lr ammo ever again now that it has eased up and there is more of it around I would like a semi auto 22.
I love my golden boy 22 but find myself less likely to carry that in the woods.
Thanks I'll now be looking for those parts to a gun I haven't bought yet.

There is nothing wrong with that, most all of us do it.
Hell, I bought 750 bullets for the .45acp before I got the gun or dies.
I already had load data too

Now I know where the ammo is! How about sending some out west!

I got a Ruger 1022 today at my local gun shop and ordered 2- 25 round magazines for it. I saw they make a bx 25 double mag but that would make the gun to heavy IMO.

Sorry about those out west without ammo

I have seen the double BX25's and they just look wrong to me. Too bulky and I just don't think I will ever need to do a combat reload with a 10/22.

Yep. He practiced for hours shooting the rifle and that is why he was so good at it. He was the first person to play two pro sports.
