My gun like Grandpa had arrived :)

My JC Higgins Double Barrel 12 Gauge came yesterday. It is a 1959 or 1960 and in great shape. No rust, the break needed a little lube, only one goofy screw that can be replaced.
Since I already showed you pictures of it, I made a Photoshop pic of me holding it and added smoke and a background.
I get to shoot it tomorrow.

Looks like a range report is coming our way. New gun, range report. That's the rule.

Range Report, The Scattergun performed great. For being 54 years old, I would not have known it by performance, it shoots better and is way more solid and accurate than many newer, even new guns I've shot.
The Target is an 11 1/2 in. circle shot with squirrel / rabbit loads.
Here is a target picture.

Glad to see you got a gun to commemorate your Grandpa. Shooting like that should keep the squirrel population under control.

Any idea how the gun is choked? 28" barrels guns were almost always modified and full in those days. Actually tough to find 26" IC/Mod guns from that era. Looks like the gun is shooting to point of aim, too. Great old double.
