My local shop has 2 that are all black with short rifled slug barrels for $265. They are listed as owned, but never fired. They are all black and look pretty cool. Are they worth the $265? I could actually trade my SBH for one straight up. |

i'd say if they are smooth bore then it might very well be worth it............ but if they are rifled bore, then i'd pass........... the smooth bore will work fine for bird shot, buck shot, and inexpensive foster slugs. but the rifled bore will lead up and do poor patterns on buckshot and also will probably lead up and do poorly on the foster slugs---which leaves only the high dollar sabot slugs for shootin'........ big 5 sports have been runnin the remington express riot for around 310 and they have also been runnin the mossberg 2 barrel set (28" bird barrel with a 18" riot barrel) for $250. The h&R pardner pump riot at academy is runnin $180 new and the talk has been good on that one as well as it is an 870 clone. ![]() Norinco has another 870 clone in full battle dress and the reports on it have been favorable as well. $200 ![]() even though they are from "china" the reviews have been excellent and thru davidson's, there is a lifetime warranty |

I guess I'll skip it then. ![]() Thanks for the info, Deputy. Danny I would have actually got $300 for the SBH. That's why I was thinking about just buying the shot gun. I'm not sure I want to lose so much on the SBH. ![]() |

I'd trade...you'd have to shoot a lot of shot/buck before leading would bother you...most folks just don't shoot that many rifled slugs....my 1300 hasn't been shot much...225 OTD and 8-shots....the sights on that one you found are worth more, in my world....good for anything from game to get-it....and there are slugs where the lead never touches the grooves...copper, etc.... |

When I get a shotgun, I don't think it'll ever see a slug. I'm all about bird, and buck shot. |

Stevens 311 were good...Fox had 3 models in the 150-3oo range...down here...they're now 40 years later 350-700....Cowboy action shooting's driven them up high....real hard to find.... |

I have a M1300 with a 20" rifled BBL that I bought new in the 90's. It is D&T'ed so I mounted a scope and that is my deer hunting gun in the shotgun section of NH. It is accurate but really ammo sensitive. The only brand of saboted slugs I could find that is accurate is 3" Federal Premium's.

Shot gun for deer hunting? what a drag you can't rifle hunt back east, not going to take a big buck 200 plus yards out with that thing.
