Single Six with .22 mag

I've always liked that model and it shoots very well with .22lr and cb shorts, I put in the .22 mag cylinder that I had not used before and am impressed much more with that revolver.

And actually the increased cost of the ammo evens out when compared to shooting something bigger.

I expect the ammo would tear up small game too much, but, be good for vermin.

I wish .22LR's would have become 22 mags and 22 mag weapons would have been more popular then the 22LR. Its a much more funner round to shoot but the extra expense doesn't make it worth it.

I think addme may be another spammer on a fishing trip here. We have had a few lately who reply on an old post with a statement that makes little or no sense. Then they come back later with a link to a website. I have not reported this post but will as soon as he posts a link if he returns.

I like the mag, too, but it has been brutally hard to find in our area for the last six months and when you do find it, it is crazy expensive. Just saw a box of 50 at Wally World for $20. As a result, when I want more than a 22 LR, I've been going to the 17 HMR. In our area, it never disappeared, even during the worst of the ammo crisis and it is cheaper than the 22 mag. What's more, it is a superbly accurate little cuss.

I've been buying .22AMR at aroun $10 to $14 a box. Not exactly cheap but its fun to shoot. My Mare's Leg project isn't going to be cheap to make or shoot but its fun dreaming and doing it and I bet when I'm done I will like it. I want to get a .22LR/.22WMR convertible SA.

You can reload like 222 or 223 cheaper then the 22 WRF cost . I reload my 38 spec and 44-40 cheaper then that . 38 lead bullets cost me $10 a 100 if I buy them or $0 / zero if I cast them myself , primers $3 a 100 and powder is cost under $3 per 100 . That is $16 a 100 and your paying over $20 a 100 for 22 WRF don't make sense to me . Plus I bet my loads are far more accurate then your 22 WRF

You are right about the cost when you work the numbers. But I don't shoot to save money. I have a ton of 5.56 NATO and other high caliber rounds. But I prefer to plink away with .22 rimfire.

Part of my desire for the .22WMR Mare's Leg is that I don't know of anyone else that has one.
