How to shoot a SA

In this video article we will cover some tips and techniques for traditional two-handed pistols, duelist pistols, double duelist pistols, and gunfighter pistols: NOTE ... watch where his little finger is it will keep the gun from rolling hand and keep bullet center on target and faster recovery . Next watch his cocking thumb it slide off the side not off the back . I shoot the gunfighter class . I hope this will help you shoot SA better .

The grooves allow you to pull hammer back and NOT slip off but it will allow you to slide your thumb off the hammer side ways with no problem . I reshape and thin it so it has less of a contact patch and much easier to slip thumb off hammer . I alway look for a edge to win a match .

I've noticed the hammer on my Uberti is a lot thinner than on my two Rugers and its easier to cock.

I think I'm going to like it here.
My favorite handguns are SA's. Every evening at dusk when I go out to put the chickens up for the night I'm packing a Ruger Single Six. The one night I didn't have it there was a possum in one of the coops, the hens would not go in (of course), and all i could find was a stick. Lesson learned.
My favorite woods walking handgun is a Ruger Flat Top 357.
My night stand gun is a Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt.
I've got 'em in 22, 357, 45 Colt, 44 magnum.
I dream of finding a Single Six in 32 H&R magnum at a reasonable price.
i've got Rugers, Ubertis, Peittas, and (Shhh! don't tell anybody) Heritage Arms.

Yep. I think I'm gonna like it here.

The SA's are fun to shoot. I was watching some of the videos on how they empty the brass and load. They are ten times as fast as I am.

Many moons ago like over 10 yrs we would reloaded on the clock in 1 of the 9 stages , but there was too many unsafe people . When you reload a SA aways spin cylnder to check for high primer and if your gun is setup with a spin free you back up cylinder and remove bullet . No spin free you will need to remove cylinder from gun .

I was noticing that. They would also only load five rounds which I knew but how do you tell when you are at the right place after you spin the wheel?

I don't do it this way because I spin the cylinder to check for high primer . Load 1 , skip 1 and load next 4 . You can see the empty space by looking between the cylinder and thurst plate .

I thought he was spinning it after loading. I'll have to watch it again.
