Definitely. Good to see you, Terry. If I'm unlucky with new Ruger revolvers, well, so be it. Can't argue with that, but unlucky enough not to take another chance on them, all the same. No big deal because I'm not much of a revolver shooter, anyway. |

I like my wheel guns. Don't have to bend over to pick up the brass. Right now my short list is a 642 or 340M&P and a Charter Bull Dog. I will trade in the LCR when I find one of the Smiths. My last buy was a convertible Blackhawk in 45C/45 ACP. Haven't done enough with it to have an opinion yet. I may have to get the 45C cylinder reamed haven't even measure it yet. Who does that Cylinder and Slide? |

The last 5 Single - Six in 22 I owned were junk and leaded up bad . The bore is .224 which is to big for 22LR wrong and the cylinders chambers are drill out with a drill bit and not a chambering reamer . 2 of my 44-40 Vaqueros I sent back to Ruger and they replaced the barrels and cylinders in both guns . My 357 mag BH I had to replace the firing pin it was too short . The 45 SA gun the cylinder if you measure them they have 3 different sizes chambers in 1 cylinder and need to be sent out to be reamed . Just about every wheel gun they build the bore is choked down at the thead and need to be fire lapped or they will keep leading . You could say I'm unlucky and I love Rugers but they need to start building them right again . The guns in pic were I made perfect and super shooters and were my match gun . I sold all but 2 of them last year . I'm getting to old to shoot matches and hunt anymore and I'm thinning my herd . The last 4 Uberti's SA wheel guns I got were perfect and couldn't find anything wrong with them and are super shooters . ![]() |

![]() Mine is DAO (aka "hammerless") so it won't snag on the draw. But be advised, the Bulldog is not made for +P. I keep mine loaded with Winchester Silvertips. If you handload, keep 'em mild. My Blackhawk 45 Colt/45 ACP is just the way it left the factory, I find it accurate enough for my purposes. | |

The SS 44 bull dog is a super gun . Like you I pocket carried it at work and when following the person carrying the money bag across the shopping center to bank . I loaded 240 cast semi-wad cutters to 850 fps and it was a tack driver . It was small and very light and easy to hide but painful to shoot . Sold it in the 80's ![]() |

I had trouble with bullets pulling forward. I used a roll crimp and a taper crimp, and I was loading lighter than you did. That must have been a fierce kicking load!

I only carried the bull dog at work and only put maybe 200 rds threw it in 4 yrs . So recoil wasn't a problem . My Detonic was my main carry gun but it was too heavy for a pocket carry and too hard to hide from customers .

Just another one of the guns I should have kept. Mine was a DAO also. Think I still have an IWB holster for it. It was a handful to shoot. ![]() |
