Did yall notice that he was back, at about 6PM with 4 nasty posts, under a new name? They were only there for a few minutes, then while I was looking for the button to report them, they disappeared. They were all attacking people that had responded negatively to swan's posts. I'm pretty sure NCG had it right that they are the same guy using different names.

Good job by the Moderators.

Don't worry there will be another master ninja along eventualy. You just have to learn fast when they appear. Then you have to keep notes to study when one gets booted.

He returned again today under a new name so I reported him and he was gone in a half hour. If he comes back don't respond to his posts just report him.

That's the thing about ninja's. They always sneak up on you and then they try to teach you with their master intelligence.

I know this is two years old, but it just came up on another forum, and it's a good topic. I just hope none of us needs to put these ideas to use.

My choice isn't made now, exactly, but could be. A long (10 inch?) barreled, stainless convertible Blackhawk. Easier to carry than a rifle, but good sight radius for accuracy. A SA revolver is simple and tough.

Caliber? In a Stuff Hits The Floor situation, you assume there would be military involvement, so military ammo could be scrounged. Ruger has the .357 / 9 mm convertible, but not in stainless or a long barrel. 9mm could be "found", and the .357 cylinder would handle the largest variety of loads of any caliber. You could handle anything from snakes to deer.

What I think that would be the ultimate survival firearm changes almost daily it seems. How about an M1 Carbine?

Fully automatic AK-47 in 7.62x39 with ........... not less than 100K rounds of ammo. Similar to the one in the link below.

Better make that two AK's, one for each hand.

AKs aren't very economical on ammo. What does 100k of 7.62 weigh if you had to carry it?.........

One for each hand? You ARE a calamity.......

Of what I currently have, I'd pick my Savage model 42 .22lr over .410.

It's light, has a sling and I have one or two assorted cartridges on hand for it. If I could only take one, that would be it.

The .22 ammo is very common and the .410 is light and can be had in most popular styles of shot and slug. Plenty of ammo could be fairly comfortably carried.

.410 might not be plentiful on a trek, but it's common enough to take plenty with you.

It can get most game and could be used as self defense.

Since it didn't say what scenario we were in, that's my choice from what I might have. It's tough though, I live in NY state and don't own any weapons or ammunition at this time.

I would still lean toward a Mod 19 S&W .357 Magnum revolver as being the most versatile. I would want a good .22 rifle as well. Then a centerfire rifle. I tend to be handgun oriented as I shoot them the most by far.
