Looks like the rate of new infections in NH is dropping. Looks like it peaked 4/4 and has been dropping everyday since.

Job meeting wasn't a total disaster. I'll have a split shift with enough time for lunch and doggie. Bad point is I may have to drive a different run each day; some I haven't done in a dozen years or more.

Can't win, wife was laid off at lunch today. Virus related, they hope to call everyone back in 3-6 weeks. So now all the song and dance of unemployment paperwork, etc., etc..

Reading about NYC having 42 dead transit workers (bus and subway), and 5000 sick. The Detroit bus driver, Jason Hargrove, seems to have gotten it from a coughing customer. His dying was a big deal online.

Makes me think about leave of absence or outright quitting, Hauling Welfare Wally's people all over town isn't worth the risk.

On a positive not BC from what I am reading those filing for UC will get an "extra" $600 a week under the federal stimulus bill. That should help out some. As to quitting the drivers should demand N95 masks to wear.

Would your Dr give you a sick leave?

This shelter in place thing is not going to work. Once things open up we're going to be playing whack-a-mole.

Our real hope for recovery is that Fauci et al get off theirs hands, cut the bull and start getting with the effective treatment programs. All they do know is spread fear.

Hydroxychloroquine may not be a catch-all treatment for everyone, but it's clearly helping a lot of folks and it's proven to be safe. I'm getting really tired of he and Birx downplaying it.

From the National Vital Statistics System of the USA, we gather the following information:

Total number of deaths in the US, in the course of the year 2018: 2,839,205.

From www.worldometers.info, we gather the following information:

Total coronavirus cases in US, as of March 31, 2020: 211,271.

Total US deaths attributed to coronavirus infection: 4,716 = 2.23% of total cases.

And 4,716 deaths so far in 2020, is only 0.17% of those who died in 2018, of natural causes. (0.17% is less than two tenths of one percent.)

Let's be very pessimistic and suppose that - 100,000 people are going to die, in the present year of 2020, from coronavirus infection.

100,000/2,839,205 = an increase in the death rate of 3.5%, over deaths registered two years' ago in the US, from normal causes.

In any war of any significance, in which the US loses 100,000 soldiers and civilians, this loss is taken as just a matter of fact: wars cost lives, and life goes on as usual.

Here are some numbers, from en.wikipedia.org:

World War II 291,557 dead.

Furthermore, from multpl.com we find that the population of the US as of March 1, 2020, is: 329,340,000. So if the US looses 100,000 people to the coronavirus, or even 500,000 individuals - absolutely nothing at all would happen to the United States of America.

However, shutting down all economic activity and sending people to their homes, with instructions to stay there until further notice, is a recipe for

SUICIDE BY THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

For the following two simple reasons:

1. People remaining in their homes will spend their savings to eat, and when this money runs out, they will either starve or resort to crime, to feed their own. Staying at home means consumption of savings, and when these run out - watch out, America!

2. Companies shutting down and laying-off workers, will be consuming Liquid Capital to remain in existence. When that Liquid Capital runs out, the company is bankrupt and may never operate again. Shutting down economic activity is the equivalent of US and State Governments at war with the productive machinery of the US, something that neither the Nazis nor the Commies were able to achieve!

STOP THE SHUT-IN OF AMERICANS IMMEDIATELY!

OPEN ALL OF US BUSINESS IMMEDIATELY!

PRAY FOR THE DEAD OF THE VIRUS

AND

GET TO WORK ON THE BUSINESS OF LIVING!

OR:

YOU WILL SEE DEATH ON AN UNIMAGINABLE SCALE

Very good, Ridge. It makes a LOT of good points. I've wondered, when this virus is all done, there will be some desperate people. Do the ones that still have a job go to work, or stay home and protect their home and property? I think a carry permit will be more comforting than ever.

Did the Occasionally Better Half's unemployment application last night. Very aggravating. The site locked up twice to where we had to restart from scratch. Third time we had made enough progress that it didn't all go poof. When finally said and done it took an hour and a half. Worst PITA is that different sections of it asked the same questions as other sections. I think I had to enter her employer's name in three different places. Other things just as many times.

Job is hanging in. Mornings I do one route four times in four hours. Afternoon a different route for three times. Still have a 4 1/2 hour gap in the middle, not as good as the previous six hours, though it will do. It's kinda dumb just picking up people the regular route had to pass up. I had five customers yesterday. Zero so far today.

Well, it seems our Gov Snake has taken of the mask, or cloak if you will, and finally shown his true agenda. He seems to be one of the leaders in the confrontation and power struggle with the President, not only has he flaunted it locally, and pissed off us minions but went on Wolf Blitzer's show and shot his mouth off. We darned near had an internet meltdown locally! The residents are PISSED! to say the least! It's going to get real interesting.

Looks like we will leave here 4/30 and get home 5/3. It sounds like they will open the park 5/1 so people will come from where ever and are probably ready to party. At home we are in the middle of 10 acres and will only have to hit the grocery stores regularly and maybe Lowe's a time or two. The #'s in NH are somewhat slanted because it has gotten into a few Nursing homes and spreads to everyone both the elderly and staff. For better or worse we're heading home.

Safe travels to you guys! I think there's likely to be more issues with the creeps than the virus.

Lets vaccinate everyone with an unknown vaccine, with unknown data & let the chips fall where they fall. If it works ok, If it kills deplorables ok, if it causes nasty side effects ok, if it gives you another worse outcome ok.
